Hi! I’m Nikiita, a Naturopath, herbalist, speaker and feminine healing coach.
Having an Auntie as a Naturopath whilst I was growing up, I’ve been into health, herbs and natural medicine. However, my main focus hasn’t always been female hormones. At the beginning of studying my Naturopathy degree, I experienced hormonal chaos after stopping the oral contraceptive pill!
I was on the pill for 6 years since being a teenager! After I stopped it, I experienced many unsettling symptoms.
These included trips to the hospital with panic attacks, heart palpitations, anxiety, weight gain, no libido, brain fog, irregular periods, a tight chest, bloating, the inability to drink alcohol, and to top if off, one big chronic headache which lasted up to a year!
My body was in ruins, unable to even go out to weekend gatherings in fear I’d be too anxious or in too much pain to socialise!
Through my studies and desire to fix what was going on with me, I made it my mission to learn everything I could about female health and hormones.
Being the stubborn and persistent person I am, I eventually found the root cause of my problems, which were major imbalances in my sex hormones and cortisol, all a result of long term contraceptive pill use.
I then applied everything I had learnt to my own body and eventually my symptoms disappeared one by one. I now live a hormone balanced, energetic, pain free life, and am head-over-heels with my own menstrual cycle.
Throughout my journey of reclaiming my health, I noticed that there was such poor support and misguided information regarding women’s health. My heart breaks observing other women go through a similar distressing journey to myself in their search for answers about their health.
Women’s health is still one of the most neglected and outdated areas of health in the orthodox medical system!
To this day a woman’s menstrual cycle is still a taboo topic, leaving many women to suffer in silence.
It is my mission to open up the conversation around women’s health. I am passionate about changing the way we approach women’s health, and vow to empower and educate women in getting to know their own bodies – their birth right.
